Nursery class at Preschool
Nursery children at preschool follow the Foundation Stage; the Early Learning Goals, which are set by the department of Education.
Language development
Children at preschool learn to speak English through:
- Speaking and listening to adults and peers
- Communicating thoughts and feelings
- Engaging in musical activities
- Linking letters and sounds
- Seeing and using familiar words
Mathematical development
Children at preschool will develop an understanding of mathematics through;
- Stories , songs, games and imaginative play
- Say and use number names
- Count objects and recognize numerals
- Identify and sort colours
- Match and recognize shapes
